Dave the Diver: A Perfect Escape Between Dad Duties

Dave the Diver on the ROG Ally

I’ve been playing a game called Dave the Diver, and I’m loving it. You are on what looks like a paradise island somewhere in Southeast Asia, helping some expats open a sushi restaurant.

Your job is simple: scuba dive to catch fish, explore a mysterious blue hole right next to the restaurant, and bring back the best catches for Bancho, the chef. You also work with Cobra, the guy with the money who pulls the strings.

The game’s aesthetics and animations are amazing. It looks like a retro pixel game but feels very alive. The water, the creatures, the little restaurant details, all of it makes it so relaxing to play.

I’ve been enjoying it on the ROG Ally, which is perfect for sneaking in quick dives throughout the day between dad duties. It’s been a great way to get small pockets of fun without needing to commit to long sessions.

If you’re looking for a chill game with a bit of story, light management, and beautiful art, give it a try. It’s been one of my favorite casual plays this year.
